Wild Ginger

Wild Ginger
Asarum canadense

The wild ginger plant can be found in the eastern deciduous forest in Missouri, most commonly found near slopes, rivers, and revines. Uses for this plant include helping/curing digestive problems, coughs and colds, nerves, sore throats, cramps, heaves, earaches, headaches, nausea, and relieving burns/other skin irritations.

The stem can be made into a juice and consumed to help with various "stomach problems" as well as minor aches. It can also be made into an oil and applied to skin irritations such as burns and bug bites to relieve pain/itching.

Active chemicals in ginger include terpenes...

and oleoresin.
