The sunflower is a plant with a recognizable yellow flower that is found in the tall grass prairies of the mid-west, including Missouri, and each part of this plant has several unique medicinal properties.



A tea can be made out of the flower's petals to help with lung alignments as well as malaria. A tea can be made from the leaves as well to reduce high fevers and to draw together skin and/or mucus membranes. Poultices can be made from the leaves also which can be used on snakebites as well as insect bites.
