Pigweed
Amaranthus spp.
The pigweed plant is located in the wastelands of Missouri which can include the tall grass prairies. Although it is just known to some as an ignorant weed, it does have many valuable medicinal uses.
Most commonly, a tea can be make from the leaves and bark and consumed to ease diarrhea and an upset stomach. Additionally, the juice from the roots can be used externally to relieve headaches.
