The dandelion is a plant that can be found virtually anywhere in Missouri, including both the tall grass prairie and the eastern deciduous forest. Its recognizable image makes it useful when finding remedies to sure several maladies.


Its root can be made into a tea that calms an upset stomach and nausea. The tea can also be used to relieve muscle aches, bruises, joint pain, and it can even be used as a skin toner.

An active chemical in the dandelion that make it useful for medicinal reasons is arsenic acid.
